The owners of the narrowboat Water Amaryllis asked me to paint traditional
roses and castles on their boat as well illustrate the name of the boat
with a group of red amaryllis flowers on each side.
On the bow of the boat I painted traditional
harlequin diamonds and triangles with a circle in the point for an
eye.
The starboard hatch doors painted with the traditional scumbling,
castles and roses
The port hatch doors and the main doors in the stern are also painted
with the traditional decoration. Each pair of castles on the hatch
doors vary from the others but all have the standard sea, river,
bridge, sailing boat, mountains, birds and of course the castles
On both sides of the boat, at each end, swags of the narrowboat
roses are added. Centrally I paint the red amaryllis
